  I was a client at TRC for six weeks from December 2016 to February 2017. While at TRC I had an opportunity to address my addiction to drugs, alcohol and gambling in an enviroment that I felt was safe and constructive.

  My experience at Thorpe was exceptional. The staff was concerned, considerate and new their stuff. As a shy individual even stepping through the doors of a treatment centre was difficult, but the other clients and staff made it easy for me to make this adjustment. The classes were well thought out and forced me to think about the way my life was going and that I was at the point of drastically needing to make some real change or die. It is that simple. I am clean and sober today and on my journey of recovery thanks to the jump start I received at Thorpe.

  The Thorpe Recovery Centre isn't perfect but it, and the people that work there, saved my life, and for that reason I give it five stars.

  The councillors and support staff were great. The facilitity itself was great too; nice dorms, peaceful rec areas and a large gym. The food was awesome!

  I was a client at thorpe for 2 weeks and 2 days when I was discharged early from the program on Friday morning June 3 2016. The reason? I happen to be an Athiest and was constantly being pressured to conform to thorpe's rigid adherence to their faith based 12 step program. This despite my making it very clear to them prior to admission that as an Athiest, the faith based aspect of their program would be off limits for me. I was assured that my Athiesm would be respected, and I was told their program was quote; "NOT FAITH BASED BUT SPIRITUAL". A flat out lie. Even some of my fellow clients began to pile on in group meetings that I was a part of. A fellow client's threat to " Smash my face in" was completely ignored despite at least 10 witnesses to this incident. Bizarre group therapy techniques including ROLE PLAYING, painfully uncomfortable to witness. Role Playing is for the bedroom, not for group therapy. Make no mistake, the Thorpe recovery center is a cult, and should be shut down for good. Refusing to drink the Jesus Juice is what led to my expulsion. Don't get sucked in to this place. Avoid this CULT at all costs.

  I can't thank the team at Thorpe enough for what they have created. The facility is professional, yet comfortable. The food is fantastic and healthy. The program keeps you active and answers all those questions you have. The staff are amazing and are with you every step of the way.
